Art for art’s sake? Not here. In my designs I try to combine two values: aesthetics and function. The seats of the Tulip line were made on that principle. Although from a distance they look like small works of contemporary art, they beat traditional benches for usefulness. A swivel base and built-in castors make the piece mobile and easy to live with. Two independent arms in the Tulip Trio version give the effect of a colourful carousel. Explore applied art with all your senses, play and experiment. Seats from this line will bring offices, waiting areas and hotels to life. A colourful pattern of wool and non-woven fabric breaks the routine of a grey flat. Sitting has never been such an exciting experience.

Materials:
Foot: powder-coated cast iron
Column: polished or chromed stainless steel, or powder-coated steel; castors
Soft part of the seat: a composition of wool broadcloth and non-woven fabric
Shell: hot-formed plywood
Some of the materials used are factory offcuts left over from production, to which I give a higher grade. They outlast most comparable products on the market. The broadcloth and felt parts are cut by hand, without using any energy.
