DOTTKA Unicorn

Unicorn Dottka is a sensory lacing toy for children from the age of four. It is a lacing set that develops a child’s fine motor skills through play — the sure functioning of hands, palms and fingers — together with the coordination of those movements by sight. From the very first days with Dottka a child begins to exercise the movements of the hands and fingers; those functions evolve and reach an ever higher level of skill. The movements become more precise and the child can carry out increasingly complex tasks. Working with Dottka products, a child learns to control the movements of the fingers and the hand, handles the object consciously and develops hand–eye coordination and spatial imagination. As these abilities deepen the child grows more and more independent, learning to lace up shoes, to tie knots and to sew without a needle. Dottka develops more than fine motor skills: it improves manual dexterity and teaches patience. It is excellent dexterity training for small hands and it exercises the memory. We use templates cut from hardwood plywood, cotton laces with extended aglets and practical, reusable cardboard packaging. We want the children in our care to meet natural materials and good design every day.
