Learning through play

Tulip…Dottka is a pattern for children over the age of four. It was inspired by the Montessori approach to child development.
Dottka is a sensory lacing toy that, through play, develops a child’s:

● fine motor skills and manual dexterity
● spatial imagination
● hand–eye coordination
● patience
● creativity
● logical thinking
● communication
● memory.

From the very first days with Dottka a child begins to exercise the movements of the hands and fingers; those functions evolve and reach an ever higher level of skill. The movements become more precise and the child can carry out increasingly complex tasks. As these abilities deepen the child grows more and more independent, learning:

● to lace up shoes
● to tie knots
● to sew without a needle
● to do up buttons
● to write neatly
● and many other things that build self-esteem and make a child’s life easier.

Every box contains:
● first-steps instructions for the Dottka technique
● a leaflet with suggestions for working the pattern
● a plywood template measuring 20 x 30 cm
● cotton laces in the colours and quantities needed to work the pattern.
