THE SILESIAN MUSEUM ON YOUR DESK – online workshops
A big lesson in miniature architecture

Creative design workshops organised together with the Silesian Museum in Katowice. The inspiration was Silesia’s singular architecture. I wanted to bring participants closer to the architecture of our Silesian Museum, whose home was built on the site of the former „Katowice” coal mine. The museum grounds are a remarkable meeting of the modern and the traditional — glass, futuristic structures set against historic red-brick buildings. The preserved winding tower of the Warszawa II shaft, the bathhouse, the joinery and the clothing store make an architectural landscape hard to find anywhere else. For me as a designer, the place is a great inspiration. The session consisted of telling participants the history of the site and then building a model of the museum together.
